Snow play, ice skates, pine trees. Oh, how I love shooting engagement sessions like this one with Serena & Mark at the mammoth and expansive Suncadia Resort. Some things are worth crossing mountains for. xx

These two found each other almost two summers ago. They spent their first days together sprawled out on the hill at Gasworks Park, talking for hours and taking in views of kite fliers and the Seattle skyline. Ali is one of the most encouraging, peaceful and genuinely kind friends I have ever known. She’s the kind of person you can share a pot of tea with and get lost in conversation about the good, beautiful and joyous things in life. Small (but grand) things, like teaching a child how to say a new work, or the freshness of a ripe orange. Ryan is creative, hilarious and without fail has made me laugh every time we’ve crossed paths.

So happy for these two, their love, and that I got to freeze it to look back on years down the road.

Serena & Mark slapped on some ice skates for their engagement session. Here’s one moment.

Molly and Auston are dear, dear, friends who love making silly faces together, turning discarded furniture into modern re-purposed relics, and playing with their pup, Olive. Molly’s going to be giving birth at literally any moment (she’s just past her due date) and we all can’t wait to welcome the newest member of the Sligh family into the world! Best Christmas present ever. Hands down.

Spent a day at the fair with these two. We ran around like kids.

“Goats!”

“Elephant Ears!”

“The ring of fire!”

We took in the smell of musky hay and cotton candy. Ogled at baby pigs. Devoured a stack of curly fries so greasy the oil soaked into our pores. Watched the sun go down through the silhouette of a Ferris wheel.

Some days are perfect. This was one of them.
