She sat in the back seat of an old car tucked in beside her siblings. Pulling up to the coast, as the seagull scape horizon came into focus the little girl squealed with joy at the thought of running down the beach with her family. Her feet hit the wet sand creating an imprint of ten little toes the size of jelly beans. And she ran.

As Lauren clicked her silver heel to the sidewalk, a stranger approached her and asked, “Are you a model, or a real bride?” Wearing a princess-cut dress designed by Mikaella with an eye-catching piece of jewelry she caught off Etsy, Lauren walked through a shade splattered sidewalk to wrap her arms around Lucas. Lauren’s silver and pearl necklace was perfectly paired with Lucas’s sharp gray suit. The day of the wedding can be pretty stressful. But it’s always amazing to see any concern, or worry completely disappear when two people who care immensely about each other lock eyes for the first time. This was the case for Lucas and Lauren. It was a small reminder that it’s a crazy gift– love is. To stand in a park filled with hundreds of people, and know there’s someone waiting for YOU. And upon seeing them your whole spirit relaxes and you just melt into their arms, like sinking into your favorite blanket. Love is the ultimate comfort. Lucas and Lauren, you held such a classy and ridiculously fun celebration of this comfort you two have in each other. Live it up in Maui….!
Special thanks to Mr. Charlie Redding for being a fantastic second-shooter.

I treasure this town and it’s people like I do my favorite childhood story book. Closing my eyes I try to go back. Back to the smell of sediment and lime, children skipping down the lane and walks on cobblestone set in the early 1600′s. The pace of life here, slow and sweet, like a sauce you let simmer all day long on the stove, struck my American go-go-go lifestyle like lighting. I left with a new appreciation for time. I realized, time can pass as I’d like. Fast, or slow.

Pulling into my driveway at 3 am the night after Danny & Megan’s wedding, I thought to myself, “I bet it’s still going on.” By “it” I was referring to Megan & Danny’s reception. The bride and groom had the genius idea of inviting all their loved ones to camp after the wedding on the clean cut lawn of their wedding venue: a gorgeous private Ridgefield estate. So after Danny & Megan swapped vows, kissed and traveled down the aisle as the sun was just dipping under the trees, friends pulled out their REI gear and went to work setting up their tents. This simple idea- a wedding after party camp- made the celebration go on for hours. People didn’t want to stop dancing. They couldn’t stop. Hands seesawed in the air, and heads were stylishly thrown back and bopped side to side. And Megan & Danny spent their first hours as husband and wife in each other’s arms dancing under a blanket of stars. Megan & Danny, thank you for being absolute rock stars. ♥ Chantal
Now go turn up your speakers and watch Danny & Megan’s slide show.

Can’t wait to post this full blog.. but alas, a vacation on the coast awaits me this week. Megan & Danny, words can’t explain how much joy you two brought me tonight.
