So, so excited to share with you Britta & Paul’s wedding from this last weekend. The joy these two tremendously kind people expressed on their wedding day was ethereal. I hope you two are having the most amazing time in the Bahamas!!

Richmond Beach, WA–Matt and Vonna will be getting married this November. For their engagement shoot we went down to one of their favorite spots at Richmond Beach. Climbing through tunnels and over rocks we eventually reached a little rocky enclave. It was their secret “spot.” I loved it.

Here’s a little peek at my recent shoot with country/jazz musician Teri Derr for her upcoming album. Teri’s fun personality made for an awesome shoot in Snohomish, one of my favorite cute little towns.

Richmond beach, WA

With temperatures inching into the 90′s these past couple days here in Edmonds, it’s official. The summer I thought might never come, has arrived. This means a trip to Costco to stock up on otter pops is in order along with many more days at the beach.
While we’re on the topic, here are some of my favorite beaches in the area (did you know beaches are on YELP? I had no idea. I guess anything can be yelped):
Richmond Beach-
So much sand, you can actually have a bonfire here, and not nearly as crowded as Golden Gardens.
Meadowdale Beach Park
To get to the beach you must take a 20 minute “hike” down a windy trail of northwest giantess trees. It’s freakishly cool in the forest, and once you hit the beach it’s insta-hot!

I’m also a bit of an ice cream junkie. So much that last year I wrote a story about ice cream truck drivers for The Seattle Weekly.
For my ice cream fix:
Molly Moons
Yes, I make the drive, and yes I wait in a half hour line for a scoop of lavender honey ice cream. It’s that good.
Peaks Frozen Custard
Okay. So custard isn’t really ice cream right? I kind of lump it in the same category. Needless to say, it’s BETTER than anything I’ve ever had. But, I was sick about a half hour later. All that egg yoke that makes it so thick and gooey really does a number on your insides. Plus side: because it’s so rich, I ate half of what I would at Molly Moons.

If I’m feeling healthy I make my favorite smoothie recipe:
Trader Joe’s frozen mango chunks (about a half cup)
half cup of ice
half a frozen banana
1/3 cup water or apple juice
wedge of lime juice

The story behind these pictures will be up soon. For now, see a bit of what I saw in Yangshuo, China.
